Aging Skin

To beautiful skin!

MOISTURIZERS
- The importance of water

Water is important in keeping the skin smooth and flexible. With age and photodamage, the skin tends to become drier. Moisturizers act by restoring water to the skin's outer layer and by helping the skin retain water. Moisturizers do not penetrate to the deeper levels of the skin and their effect is generally temporary. They can, however, significantly reduce the discomfort of dry skin and improve appearance.

Moisturizers should be applied regularly and work best after washing while the skin is still damp. During the winter, when heating makes indoor air very dry, it is a good idea to use a bath or shower oil or an emollient soap. It is also better to use warm water than hot as the latter tends to dry out the skin.
